iFixit teardown the new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro and gives us detail information about RAM & Battery.
iFixit teardown both iPhones and when they do so they find out both the phones have the same physical attributes so the teardown of both the phones is quite similar. This time they have to apply more heat to separate body and display compared to previous year’s iPhones.
Both phones have one physical difference iPhone 12 has a dual-camera setup (12-MP primary camera & 12-MP ultra-wide-angle camera). Where iPhone 12 Pro has a triple camera setup (12-MP primary camera, 12-MP ultra-wide-angle camera & 12-MP telephoto camera). The iPhone 12 uses a plastic spacer where the iPhone 12 Pro has its LiDAR sensor.
They also mentioned that both phones display is interchangeable the only difference will be the brightness.
The new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro have a similar battery capacity which is 2,815mAh. It is smaller than the previous year’s iPhone 11. It has around 3,046mAh battery capacity which is not that big of a difference but we will see it in day-to-day use.
Another important difference is the RAM – iFixit found Apple had used Micron LPDDR4 RAM, with 4GB on the iPhone 12 and 6GB on the iPhone 12 Pro. iFixit also teardown the new MagSafe charger which has a dark ring of magnets around the exterior.
The iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro get a reparability score of 6 out of 10 which is the same as last year’s iPhone 11.
